Scotsdale Dress Code
In order to maintain an effective learning environment, school clothing should be neat, clean, and appropriate. Gym shoes are needed for physical education classes. Any problems involving dress are handled on an individual basis.
UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS:
Options to be worn with uniform shirts:
Any change in the Dress code may be made by the building Principal to maintain order and safety on the campus.
UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS:
- School uniform shirts must be tucked in at all times
- School club shirts may be worn on Friday. Ex. AR, Just Say No, etc., these must also be tucked in at all times.
Options to be worn with uniform shirts:
- Blue or white jeans - NEED TO FIT. No larger than 3 inches in any direction. Example: Pull pants out at the thigh and no more than 1 1/2 inches on both sides, for a total of 3 inches. No longer than 3 inches from the ankle. No more than 3 inches below the crotch and at the waist. Jeans must be plain, without designs. No Cargo or Carpenter Pants.
- White or blue slacks - follow same size as for jeans.
- White or blue skirts/shorts - must be longer than the middle finger tip when standing straight.
- Shirts tucked into pants, skirts, or shorts.
- Belt - Brown or Black only, No Initial Belts.
- No non-uniform coats worn in the building. If a child is cold natured, it is recommended that you purchase an optional uniform sweatshirt which will be allowed in the building.
- Shoes - recommend regular tennis shoes, or shoes comfortable for P.E. No knee high shoes or tennis. No flip flops or Heelies on shoes.
- No hats/caps in the building.
- Socks no higher than 3 inches above the ankles.
- Natural hair color
- No Mohawks or shaved designs
- No body piercing
- No back packs with wheels

The first week of school will be used for student warnings in regard to the uniform policy. No verbal warnings after the second week.

The Ysleta District reserves the right to make additional changes in the dress code and will continue to prohibit other items or trends that prompt any misconduct. Uniform shirts may be ordered from:
